Jewish Agency chairman Louis Pincus claimed here yesterday that the recent Zionist membership campaigns in Britain and elsewhere demonstrated that the Zionist philosophy was becoming a “vital force” in the lives of diaspora Jewry at all levels. He said the response in Britain exceeded his own expectations and convinced the skeptics that they were wrong. Mr. Pincus expressed his views in an interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency prior to his departure for New York. He said the newly formed American Zionist Federation would hold its membership campaign during January, February and March. Mr. Pincus said that Israel expected 45,000 new immigrants during the next 12 months. He said that not all of the newcomers in recent years are from distressed areas.
