A two-day conference to set the budget for 1949 for its program of social services for women and children in Israel was opened here today by the Pioneer Women’s Organization, the women’s Zionist labor organization of America.
Reporting on the accomplishments of the current year, Mrs. Israel Goldstein, president of the organization, revealed that the group raised more than $1,625,000 during 1947-1948. The opening session heard a report by Dvorah Rothbard, who has just returned from Israel, on the child care centers, immigration camps and the agricultural and vocational training program in the Jewish state which are financed by the Pioneer Women.
