A sum of $3,000 has been sent by the Pioneer Women’s Organization to the Working Women’s Council in Palestine for the establishment of recreation centers and temporary training quarters in Palestine for members of the Palestine Auxiliary Territorial Service who now number 1,500, it was announced today.
These funds are in addition to $10,000 which was cabled last week for immediate defense measures necessitated by the emergency situation on the Middle Eastern front. This latter sum is to be used for the protection of children, their removal to safety zones, the support of agricultural training farms for women, and assistance to the families of men in the armed services.
