A fifteen-day bazaar for the benefit of children whose parents have been forced to flee from the Hitler terror in Germany will open this evening at Mermaid avenue and West Seventeenth street, Coney Island, under the auspices of the American Committee for the Relief of Victimized German Children.
Material sold at the bazaar has been donated by local business houses and individuals.
Aldermanic President Bernard S. Deutsch is chairman of the Committee, and other members include Lady Elsie Duveen. Mrs. Christian Holmes, Mrs. Sam Lewisohn, Mrs. Julian Mack, Dr. Henry Moskowitz, Mrs. Nathan Straus Jr., Lady Mendl and Carrie Chapman Catt.
The American Committee for the Relief of Victimized German Children has estimated homes for refugee children in Switzerland, France and Holland. Relief is given without regard to race or creed.
