Plan “elite Corps” of Mounted Police for Palestine

It was reliably learned today that the authorities are planning to organize an “elite corps” of mounted and foot police to aid in suppressing the mounting terrorism throughout Palestine. The corps will comprise Jews and Arabs and will be under the command of British officers.

Plans for the new unit were discussed at a conference of Lieut.-Gen. John Greer Dill, commander-in-chief of the British military forces in the Holy Land, members of his staff and police chiefs.
