The hope that the Austrian authorities will not place obstacles in the way of the formation of a Federation of Jewish Communities in Austria, was expressed here at a conference of delegates from various communities throughout the country held for the purpose of creating a united front in Austrian Jewry.
The conference pointed out that there is an urgent need for the creation of an authoritative, comprehensive organization of the Jews in Austria. As a result of the conference, a Federation of Jewish Communities has been projected, and the Jewish community of Vienna was instructed to take all necessary steps to bring this Federation into existence.
The Vienna Jewish Community has also been authorized by the Conference to inform the Federal Minister of Education and Public Worship, of the formation of this Federation.
