A plan for a Jewish state to be established by Rumania and Poland on their mutual border was reported today by the Sunday Chronicle, which asserted that the scheme had been forwarded to king carol by polish and Rumanian Jews.
The paper said that 30,000 square miles would be allocated for the state, including parts of southern Poland and the Bukowina province of Rumania, which would be able to accommodate 5,000,000 Jews. The state would have a local Jewish government under the political control of Rumanian and polish governors.
If Russia joins, the report said, she is expected to contribute part of Ukrainia, including kamaniec and Proskurov. The Chronicle asserted that the gesture would be backed by a demand for a big loan to be granted by western powers to Poland and Rumania, while the cost of transporting Jews to the state would be defrayed by international Jewish financiers.
