More than 30 applicants have registered for the first American village which will be established in Israel near the settlement of Godera, according to a plan presented at a conference of Jewish farmers here by Itzhak Korn, secretary of Tenuat Hamoshavim, which is engaged in the settlement of middle class families in Israel.
The plan provides for the settlement of 100 families in the American village. Each family is to receive 35 dunams of land for farming and the raising of livestock. Each colonist will have to contribute $10,000 toward the cost of constructing the village and setting up its economy. Half of this sum he will be able to secure as a loan from the Jewish Agency.
