The proposal to move North African Jews to Israel with assistance from the United States under the auspices of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration–presented last week to Secretary of State John Foster Dulles by Rep Francis E. Walter, chairman of the House Immigration Subcommittee–will be discussed with Harold Tittman, ICEM director, who arrived here today for consultations with high State Department officials.

Meanwhile, it was learned here today that Rep. Walter and Rep. Ruth Thompson, ranking Republican member of the House Immigration Subcommittee, will visit Israel for several days early next month to study absorption potentialities in connection with Rep. Walter’s plan for American support of the movement of North African Jews to the Jewish State. Walter Besterman, legislative counsel of the House Judiciary Committee, will accompany the Congressional delegation. The two member of Congress will also visit Arab refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon. While in Israel, the delegation will be guests of the Israel Government.
