“Queen Sabbath”, for centuries the subject of glorification, was reinstated in its full significance in the city of Tel Aviv, the first Jewish city in Palestine, by an order of Lord Plumer.

The High Commissioner approved the Tel Aviv city ordinance making Saturday the legal day of rest in the confines of the city. All stores, factories and offices are to be closed in the city from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
