The Polish Foreign Office today called on foreign financiers to assist emigration of Jews from Poland to countries outside Palestine.
In a statement explaining the declaration of the Polish delegation to the League of Nations on emigration, the Foreign Office said financiers seeking to advance their own economic interests as well as those who are concerned over the problem for sentimental reasons ought to come to the aid of the Polish Jews.
Jewish emigration is an international problem, the statement said, which can only be solved by considering numerous economic and financial factors, in which the Jews must play an important role.
Palestine alone is not adequate for Polish Jewry’s needs, the Foreign Office said, urging that steps be taken during the coming year to carefully examine all possibilities for colonizing Jews in other lands.
The statement asserted that the question should be examined with a view to opening new territories to the Jews in accordance with the aspirations of many Jews.
Poland has asked the League for a discussion of the emigration problem at the next regular session and for speediest possible achievement of practical results toward solving the question.
