Poland Denies Relief to Jews in Town Razed by Fire

A HUNDRED HOMELESS JEWISH FAMILIES IN THE TOWN OF BYCHAWA, NEAR LUBLIN, WHICH WAS THREE-FOURTHS RAZED BY FIRE, WERE INFORMED YESTERDAY BY THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR THAT THEY NEED NOT EXPECT ANY RELIEF FROM THE GOVERNMENT.

A DELEGATION OF THE JEWISH POPULATION, WHICH WAS RENDERED ALMOST DESTITUTE, WAITED UPON THE GOVERNOR WHEN HE VISITED THE TOWN, BUT HE REFUSED TO ALLOT ANY RELIEF TO JEWS, SAYING: “YOU JEWS HAVE PLENTY OF YOUR OWN CAPITAL.”
