Ten years after the Russo-Polish War, a Jewish hero was remembered by the Polish government with the grant of a medal for his defense of the fatherland during the Russian evacuation from Lomza. High Polish officers, headed by a special emis sary, ministerial director Orzechowski, handed a medal today to Wolf Okon.
In the course of the ceremony Okoi expressed the hope that the full rights of Jewish citizens would be maintained. Orzechowski said that the present regime would make no distinction between citizens.
