Minister of Interior Ladislow Raczkiewicz began preparation today of a bill regulating shechita, the Jewish ritual method of slaughtering animals for human consumption. He asked chambers of commerce and artisans’ organization to furnish him with data to aid in preparation of the bill. The commercial and artisans’ associations have announced themselves in favor of complete or partial prohibition of shechita.
