Dov Chomsky, special delegate of the Keren Hayesod, is compelled to leave Poland after a six-month stay in the country, in view of the fact that the Polish authorities have refused to extend his visa, it was learned here today. Local administrative authorities in the city of Lodz have recently made “inspections” in the main offices of the Jewish National Fund and the Keren Hayesod there.
The merging of the Hashomer Hatzair and the Left Poale Zion in Poland into one party, to be known as the “Jewish Workers Party,” was announced here today following a two-day convention of the two groups attended by approximately 200 delegates. Adolph Berman, chairman of the new party, speaking on the international situation, stressed the need of the Jewish state for peace. Vice-chairman Nachum Strachman emphasized the inseparability of Israel from the World Zionist Organization and underlined the necessity of Jewish immigration to Israel from all countries.
