Polish Government authorities are now gathering materials which they will furnish to Israel to help prosecute Adolf Eichmann, Nazi specialist in the extermination of Jews under the Hitler regime, according to official notification received here today. The notification was given by Poland to the Israel legation in Warsaw, and the Polish Government promised to turn its Eichmann materials over to the legation soon.
Czechoslovakia had already notified Israel it will furnish documentation about Eichmann’s crimes in that country. Today, a Government spokesman said it is hoped that proof of Eichmann’s direction of anti-Jewish atrocities may also be obtained from Hungary, where he was particularly active in the Nazi program for the extermination of Jews.
Israel, some months ago, asked the East European countries–all of which are Communist–to furnish from their extensive files, proof of Eichmann’s work in his effort to achieve “the final solution of the Jewish problem” through the extermination of all Jews in Europe.
