Poland’s chief rabbi called for the former Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp complex to be removed from Polish control. “The Polish government should offer that piece of land to all nations so they could come in freedom and pray for their dead as they see fit,” Rabbi Menachem Joskowicz was quoted as saying. His comments came as an international group of experts gathered to discuss the status of the areas around the death camp sites.
