Poles Move to Restrict Exile Entry

The Polish Minister of Interior today instructed frontier officials on the German-Polish border to see to it that no Jewish refugees from Germany cross the border into Poland illegally.

Simultaneously an order was issued to expel from Poland any German citizen who has illegally entered the country and return him to Germany.

These orders came as a result of the Polish-German treaty signed recently providing for the surrender of illegals.

HOLD TO PRO-GERMAN COURSE

While a large proportion of the Polish population objects to the political flirtation being carried on between Poland and Germany, it appears that the pro-German course which the Polish government is now pursuing will not change.

Great interest is displayed here in the petition which the Jews of Danzig have submitted to the League of Nations complaining against the Nazi administration in the Free City. Almost half of the Jewish population in Danzig are citizens of Poland and the Polish government is greatly interested in the outcome of the petition, not only because the Jews are affected but also because the Polish population in Danzig will be better protected if the League decides in favor of the Jewish petition.
