Police arrested 26 Arab students Wednesday morning for molesting East Jerusalem shopkeepers who refused to close their shops in protest against a recent Jewish prayer service held on the Temple Mount, an Islamic shrine. Police said the students stoned several shops. The youths, however, drew no response from local merchants to their call for a general strike. This apparently led to the attempts to coerce merchants in the Old City market.
