A masked ball scheduled to be held here tonight by the United Nations staff was banned at the last minute by the Geneva police. The organizers of the ball were told that the masquerade could not take place because of the fact that Roger Garreau, president of the U.N. Trusteeship Council, recently received a threatening letter from a Palestine Arab terrorist organization in Egypt. The police pointed out that the masked ball might provide an opportunity for terrorist activity.
