Efforts to raise the ritual murder accusation on a large scale at mass meetings on the eve of the Passover were checked by the police.

The Vienna Hakenkreuzler organizations were responsible for the efforts to call the mass meetings to stir up hatred against the Jews by reviving the old libelous tale. The police confiscated a great mass of literature on the ritual murder theme. A local advertising agency declined to placard announcements of the meetings.
