J. Matusinski, Polish Consul, has issued a statement in defending his government’s action on the minorities question.
Arguing that Poland’s decision “has no connection with the actual interests of minorities,” Mr. Matusinski said that “These interests are and will be protected by the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. . . . Poland, however, is unwilling to accept supervision from states, which are not themselves bound by any guarantees of minorities residing in those States.”
The Polish Consul further declares that “general concensus of Jewish public opinion in Poland, as voiced by the Jewish press there, shows that Jewish citizens of the Republic join with their Polish fellow citizens in loyal support of this stand of their government.”
