Polish Consul Promises to Aid Jewish Refugees in Russia to Emigrate to Palestine

An appeal to the Polish consul-general here, Baron Korsak, to attempt to facilitate the emigration of Polish Jewish refugees from Russia to Palestine, was made today by Elihu Dobkin, head of the Immigration Department of the Jewish Agency. Baron Korsak promised to contact the Polish consuls in Kuibyshev and Tashkent, immediately, asking them to grant passports to certified refugees.

Meanwhile, the first shipment of winter clothes and other vital necessities for the Polish refugees in Russia left here today for Teheran on route to the Soviet Union. The articles were collected by the Polish Red Cross through the Jewish women’s organizations in Palestine and South Africa.
