A Polish court has sentenced a Nazi war criminal to death for participation in the liquidation of the Janow Ghetto and in the massacres of Jews and Poles in other parts of occupied Poland, it was reported here today from Warsaw.
The criminal, whose name was given only as Heczko, was sentenced by a court at Breslau. He joined the Russian counter-revolutionary forces which operated under German direction between 1941 and 1943, when he committed his crimes.
