The Polish Government-in-exile has sent 3,000,000 lits to Lithuania to assist refugees there, it was revealed by Polish Social Welfare Minister Stanszyck last night at a seder given here by the Polish Refugee Fund. Two hundred refugees from Poland were present.
Stanszyck disclosed also that the Government was negotiating with the British authorities to obtain permission for Polish refugees here to work. Declaring Polish Jewry had been united with the Polish Government in these “days of sorrow,” Stanszyck concluded by expressing the hope that the refugees would be able to hold their next seder in Poland with their families.
