As a result of a conference called at the Sherman Hotel by Z. Tygel, executive director of the Federation of the Polish Jews of America, a Chicago district of the Federation was organized.

Until recently, there were no Polish Jewish organizations affiliated with the Federation in this district. Representtatives of twenty-three organizations were called together. A committee of twelve was elected with Dr. Treiger as chairman, Mendel Yale as treasurer, and L. A. Kovin, secretary.

At the first meeting of the new executive committee, judge Heller promised his full support.
