Deprived of government assistance, all Jewish cooperatives in Poland today formed a united body to protect their existence and to combat the competition of non-Jewish cooperatives which are receiving extensive credits from government funds.
The newly formed body includes all the Jewish cooperatives of every group and political party including the extreme Orthodox Agudah.
The Jewish cooperative movement in Poland is considered one of the greatest relief measures for Polish Jewry. The movement covers every township and numbers hundreds of thousands of members.
The presidium of the organization consists of Raphael Shereshofsky, president, and L. Levite, Deputy Dr. Heinrich Rosmarin, Deputy W. Wishlitzky, vice-presidents.
