A crowd of Jews were returning from the banks of the Vistula River after alighting from the ferry. They were surrounded by a larger group of hostile peasants, who proceeded to attack them in brutal fashion.

Later all Jewish shops in the township were targets for vandals, who destroyed windows and doors.

In recent weeks raids on the Jewish population over Poland by Nara anti-Semitic mobs have increased in frequency and intensity. Police action against them has been of little avail, and the number of Jewish victims is mounting.

Today’s edition of Haint, Yiddish daily, was confiscated twice by authorities for unstated reasons.
