An American mohel recently performed nearly a dozen circumcision on Polish Jews ranging in age from 3 months to 53 years.
“They came from all over Poland,” Rabbi Michael Schudrich, director of the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation activities in Poland, said in a telephone interview. “There have been about 40 circumcisions in Poland over the past 18 months.”
He said Rabbi Yitzhak Fischer, of Monsey, N.Y., carried out the circumcisions not long before Pesach.
“It was his fourth trip to perform circumcisions in Poland,” Schudrich said, adding that Fischer volunteered his services.
