Encouraged by the experiment in Riga, where Jewish boys are being trained as aviators, sailors and fishermen for Palestine, a movement has been started here to train Polish-Jewish youths for nautical careers.
A new organization, Zebulon, has been formed here, and will start active functioning this Summer. The organization plans to buy a small vessel as a training ship and to start with 200 young Jews who will be trained as sailors. Others will be trained as fishermen.
The promoters of the project believe that the training will be valuable in preparing Jewish youths for a greater role in Polish-Palestinian commerce, which has already reached impressive proportions, as well as for their future residence in Palestine.
The Riga project is conducted by the Brith Trumpeldor, Revisionist youth organization.
