FOUR NARA LEADERS ARRESTED
The government moved today against Naras guilty of the most recent outrages against the Jews and after a house-to-house search closed the Nara headquarters in the Powonzki district. Four Nara leaders were arrested.
Results of the municipal elections in Wilno today disclosed that the Endeks had won nineteen seats on the municipal council. The pro-government party won thirty-four seats. The number of Jewish councillors remained unchanged at ten, nine representing the Jewish national bloc and one the Right Poale Zion organization.
It became known today that Rabbi Levin had resigned from the presidency of the Rabbinical Council as a protest against the recent visit of a delegation of rabbis to Cardinal Kakowski to urge his intervention against the incitement of the Polish population by the Naras. Remarks made by the prelate, interpreted as a rebuff to the rabbis, and published in full in the Polish press as an official communique, prompted his action.
