The P. P. S., the Polish Socialist Party, which parades in the international arena as fighting for human rights, has displayed its chauvinistic character in the present Warsaw municipal election campaign.

Joining the cry of the Polish nationalist parties, the P. P. S. adopted the election slogan: “Guard the purely Polish character of Poland’s capital.” a slogan openly directed against the Jewish candidates.

The lack of unity among the Jewish parties is coming more and more to the surface. The bloc of Jewish parties which was concluded last week was dissolved because of the differences of opinion concerning the language question. The Histadruth demanded a plank in the platform of the bloc which would guarantee municipal subsidy for the Hebrew language schools. The Voelkist democrats objected to this. The organization of Orthodox workers has decided to submit its own list.

In Vilna efforts are being made to create a bloc of Jewish parties. It was stated that the White Russians would join this bloc.
