The Jewish residents of the Nalewski, the Jewish quarter in Warsaw, were alarmed yesterday when a Polish soldier shot into a group of Jewish young men and women, who were peacefully con versing in front of one of the houses. One of the group, Simon Teitelbaum, 18, was seriosly wounded and was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
The soldier tried to escape but was caught and handed over to the police.
