Jewish sources in the Soviet Union reported today that Victor Polsky, a prominent activist, would go on trial in Moscow tomorrow on trumped-up charges of injuring a pedestrian last March through careless driving. The charge carries a maximum three-year jail sentence. The 44-year-old physicist applied for an exit visa several years ago. The sources noted that the trial comes at a time of sensitive negotiations between Washington and Moscow in an effort to establish trade relations. (See story P. 3 for to establish trade relations.
