Pope John Paul II brought religious leaders together Thursday in the Italian city of Assisi to pray for peace and vow never to support conflicts waged in God’s name. The gathering brought together some 200 religious leaders, including Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs and African animists.
