The possibilities of Jewish immigration into Abyssinia were discussed here today by the Ethiopian minister in London and a delegation of the orthodox Agudas Israel organization. It is understood that discussions on this subject are also going on in Adis Ababa, and that Emperor Haile Selassie has displayed considerable interest in the problem.
Recently 1,500 refugees from Greece, including a number of Salonika Jews, arrived in Abyssinia where there is a great shortage of doctors, chemists, engineer and technicians. The Falasha Jews in Abyssinia have informed Emperor Selassie that they desire to be of aid to the Jews from Europe and will welcome them in Falasha settlements.
A cable received here today from Palestine states that Haile Selassie has donated two big buildings in the city of Gondar for use as Jewish public schools and that he has also invited more Jews to come to Abyssinia. Several Jews are already serving in responsible positions as state advisers to the Emperor.
