An attack on “the vicious and stupid effort of Charles H. Sherrill, American Olympic official, to paint this as a Jewish question” was the editorial reply today of the New York Post to General Sherrill who, in an interview yesterday, warned the Jews that their efforts to have the Olympics transferred from Berlin would result in an anti-Semitic wave.
“The ugly tome of the statement,” the editorial said, “his condonation of Nazi tactics, can only be understood when it is recalled that Mr. Sherrill has just come back from four days at the Nuremberg Nazi rally as a guest of Hitler. Has he come back a Nazi?”
