The board of governors of the Hebrew University today disclosed additional details in connection with the reorganization of the Palestine school’s administration by which Dr. Judah L. Magnes, chancellor, was elected president and Dr. Chaim Weizmann was named chairman of the board.
The board, called upon to consider Dr. Magnes’ resignation as chancellor of the university, decided to suspend the post of chancellor, Dr. Magnes agreeing to serve in the capacity of president.
The academic officer of the university will be the rector, who is to be elected by the school’s senate. Deans will be chosen by the various faculties comprising the university.
