Greek Jews throughout Palestine held special prayers for a Greek victory in the Italo-Greek conflict. A sermon on the subject was delivered by Chief Rabbi Uziel, spiritual leader of the Sephardic Jews in Palestine.
The service was attended by Greek Consul-General Dimitros Pappas, Greek Orthodox ecclesiastical leaders and Palestine Government officials. The Greek colors were among the flags decorating the synagogue. Pappas expressed gratitude for Jewish support and sympathy.
