“The Federal government of Canada will stamp out anti-Semitic propaganda in Quebec if the Provincial Government will not do so itself,” asserted Premier Bennett of Canada in a letter to E. F. Singer, Jewish member of the Provincial Parliament of Ontario.
Deputy Singer made public the letter yesterday at the cermonies celebrating the opening of a new synagogue, Machisiki Bnai Israel.
The communication of the Canadian Premier is in reply to a letter addressed to him by Deputy Singer protesting against the anti-Semitic stand of the Deputy speaker of the House of Commons, Armand Lavergne.
The Jewish deputy expressed his belief in the sincerity of the Premier’s intentions of halting the anti-Semitic propaganda in Quebec.
