Police are investigating a letter received yesterday by Premier Golda Meir which warned, “If you don’t outlaw autopsies by hospital pathologists we will exert cruel pressure on you and on your family or even you may fall victim.” The letter, apparently from religious zealots opposed to autopsies, was the first threat against a leading public official. Hitherto, zealots have been harassing pathologists who perform post mortems at government and public hospitals. The letter was signed by “members of the Bnei Brak and Jerusalem Zealots Association.”
