Sources close to President Ben-Zvi denied today report that he had not yet agreed to run for a third term and that his Mapai party was consequently considering an alternative candidate. His term expires on October 30.

These sources said that Premier Ben-Gurion, Finance Minister Levi Eshkol and other Mapai leaders had approached Mr. Ben-Zvi and asked him on behalf of the party to accept nomination. The President agreed and is therefore the only candidate of Mapai.
