President Clinton held a surprise meeting for more than 30 minutes last Friday at the White House with Israeli opposition leader Ehud Barak. They discussed the Iraqi crisis and its implications for the Middle East peace process. The meeting was arranged by U.S. National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, who met separately with Barak.
