President Clinton signed a bill to provide $25 million to organizations that assist Holocaust survivors. The measure, already approved by the U.S. Congress, also authorizes $5 million for research to help with the restitution of Jewish- owned assets looted by the Nazis. “It is my hope that with this bill we can provide some dignity and relief to those who were subject to the ultimate barbarism of the Holocaust,” Clinton said at the signing ceremony.
