Congratulatory messages from President Roosevelt, Mayor LaGuardia and Governor Lehman were read at a banquet held last evening at the Hotel Astor in celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of Congregation Ohab Zedek.
Among the speakers were Bernard S. Deutsch, Congressman Sol Bloom, Max D. Steuer, Judge Samuel Rosenman, William Weiss, Max D. Rosenfeld and Rabbi William Margolis. During the evening a telegram was sent to President Roosevelt, cogratulating him on his birthday and assuring him of the full cooperation of the congregation in his recovery program. A number of new members were welcomed to the congregation during the banquet.
