The President of the Polish Republic, Professor Moscicki, admitted that the Jewish economic situation in Poland is difficult, when he gave an audience to-day lasting about 50 minutes, to Mr. B. Smolar, the J.T.A. Special Representative, and Mr. Mozes, the Director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, in Warsaw. The President discussed with the J.T.A. representatives the interest shown by American Jewry in the relief of the serious economic plight of Polish Jewry and he paid tribute to the work done in this regard by the Joint Distribution Committee of America. The President was also very interested in the work of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
