Uruguayan President Luis Battle Berres received Israel Finance Minister Levi Eshkol today. In the course of the audience, the two men discussed the possibility of Israel-Uruguayan trade and the President promised his cooperation to the development of such trade.
Later, Uruguayan Finance Minister Dr. Jose Malet gave a luncheon in Mr. Eshkol’s honor and in the evening the Israel Legation tendered a dinner for him, which was attended by Foreign Minister Dr. S. Rompani and other important figures in Uruguayan government and business circles.
