Appearing at a public function for the first time since his inauguration as President of Israel, Dr. Chaim Weizmann–in his dual capacity as the first President of the Jewish state and as one of the world’s leading scientists–was tendered a modest but impressive reception here today at the Weizmann Institute of Rehovoth.
David Bergman, scientific director of the Institute, and Meyer Weisgal, executive director of the American Friends of the Institute, were among those who paid tribute to the Israeli President’s achievements in the fields of statesmanship and science.
