Nine members of the German and Austrian World War Veterans Association of Essex County are reported to have submitted their resignations from the organization today on account of pressure brought against them for alleged Nazi sympathies.

The nine members include George Ganns, former national commander, who is said to have been a close friend of Heinz Spanknkoebel; Dr. Albert Schley, president of the Newark division of the Friends of New Germany; Walter Kauf, who awaits sentence for inciting a riot here recently and carrying concealed weapons; Karl Kauf, Ludwig Gruenwald, Alfred Schuchmann, Jacob Beyer, Matthias Kohler and Fred Rilter.

It is alleged that on account of attempts they were making to inject pro-Nazi beliefs into the association and because the majority of the members not only rejected their overtures but grew indignant at their persistence, the nine members signed a letter of collective resignation.
