Paul Musikonsky, eleven-year-old-boy violinist, makes his third solo concert appearance in New York this evening at Carnegie Hall.
Young Musikonsky, protege of Joseph Osborne, gives a program that includes Handel’s Sonata in E Major, Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole, and shorter selections by Mendelssohn-Achron, Joan Mannen, Gluck-Kreisler and Ernest Bloch. He will be accompanied at the piano by Jacques Pintel.
The young artist made his debut at Carnegie Hall two years ago. Last year he appeared at Town Hall prior to a concert tour that took him through Eastern United States and Canada.
The career of this latest violin prodigy, one of a long line of Jewish artists that includes Mischa Elman, Yascha Cheifetz, Yehudi Menuhin and Efren Zimbalist, began at the age of five when his rare talent was discovered while he was attending a kindergarten class at Public School 193, Brooklyn.
